a. Newspaper is read everyday.
(समाचार-पत्र प्रतिदिन पढ़ा जाता है।)
b. He had forgotten me.
(वह मुझे भूल गया था।)
c. I have understood this.
(मैं यह समझ गया हूं।)
d. She will be waiting for you.
(वह तुम्हारा इंतजार कर रही होंगी।)
Verb के जिस रूप से यह पता चले कि Verb का मुख्य विषय Subject (कर्ता) है, Object (कर्म) है अथवा Emotion (भाव) उसे Voice कहते हैं।
Kinds of Voice
Transitive Verb के दो Voices होते हैं:
1. Action Voice
2. Passive Voice
1. Action Voice
जिस Sentence में Subject (कर्ता) की Priority (प्रधानता) होती है, अर्थात् इन Sentence में Subject (कर्ता) के बारे में कुछ बताया जाता है, तथा Verb का सीधा और मुख्य संबंध Subject (कर्ता) के साथ होता है, उसे Action Voice कहते हैं।
Examples:-
1. I was reading this book this time yesterday.
(मैं कल इस वक्त यह किताब पढ़ रहा था।)
2. He will be watering the plants.
(वह पेड़ों को पानी दे रहा होगा।)
3. Deepawali is not celebrated in March.
(दीपावली मार्च में नहीं मनाई जाती है।
4. Sabrina will be watching telegram.
(सबरीना टेलीग्राम देख रही होगी।)
5. He will have reached home by now.
(वह अब तक घर पहुंच गया होगा।)
6. We had taken his permission.
(हमने उसकी अनुमति ली थी।)
7. Boys have been playing since 7 o'clock.
(लड़के 7 बजे से खेल रहे हैं।)
8. He will have heard this news.
(उसने यह खबर सुनी होगी।)
9. I have taken his permission.
(मैंने उसकी अनुमति ली है।)
10. You have become a father now.
(तुम अब पिता बन गए हो।)
2. Passive Voice
जिस Sentence में Object (कर्म) की Priority (प्रधानता) होती है तथा Verb का मुख्य संबंध Object (कर्म) से होती है, उसे Passive Voice कहते हैं।
Examples:-
1. A letter is written by William.
(पत्र विलियम द्वारा लिखा जाता है।)
2. He was rushed to hospital.
(उसे तुरंत अस्पताल ले जाया गया।)
3. The lion is called the king of the jungle.
(शेर को जंगल का राजा कहा जाता है।)
4. We had not been informed.
(हमें जानकारी नहीं दी गई थी।)
5. Plants were watered by me.
(पेड़ों को मेरे द्वारा पानी दिया गया।)
6. His honesty should be praised.
(उसकी ईमानदारी की तारीफ करनी चाहिए।)
7. English is spoken all over the world.
(अंग्रेजी सारी दुनिया में बोली जाती है।)
8. He will be sent there.
(उसे वहां भेजा जाएगा।)
9. The date for the meeting has been fixed.
(सभा की तारीख निश्चित की गई है।)
10. How much will this plan have to be changed?
(यह योजना कितनी बदलनी पड़ेगी।)
